The Olympics of the Ladies

Seriously, without women, our Olympics would be a shambles. We'd be horrible... I mean, 4 out of 5 gold medals, and 13 out of 18 total have been won by women.

Then, 3 out of our five male medals are in sports that didn't exist before the Salt Lake City games (2 in Skeleton and 1 in Long Track Speed Skating Team Pursuit). Do we have a problem, or should we just be proud of the fact that women have such an advanced standing in the world.

Hindsight Says...

... they should have picked a younger team. I think they just didn't have the explosiveness that other teams had. I mean, where are your young players like Spezza, Crosby, Staal and Phaneuf?

Would things have been different with Jovo and Neidermayer? Maybe... Should they not have taken Doan, Bertuzzi or Draper? Probably not.

My point would have been that if you're going to blow a medal run (and let's face it, going 3-2 in the round robin with a loss to Switzerland is essentially that) you might as well prepare the young kids for Vancouver 2010.

Just my hindsight... others opinions will likely differ.
