Stag And Doe Ideas

By smithdm3 - Posted on 15 January 2004

I get a lot of hits (found in my refer logs) for Stag and Doe type ideas. So I'll ask you people to help me out by providing ideas that you have, and then hopefully when people visit here they won't be so dissapointed. :)

Comment away!

Update:

Wow, after four years, this post just keeps on raking in traffic and comments. We're up to 153 individual comments. Now, some of them are questions, but really, it's pretty amazing how giving people have been. My friend Kev is trying to provide a similar service with master of ceremony (MC/emcee) speech ideas/jokes.

Is there a cheap option for transporting people between cities 15 min away? I have people from two cities meeting in the middle so i can make it easier for both families.

The contracted services were not limited to just school bus drivers. The passenger carrying vehicle endorsement that certain drivers were unqualified for a school bus. Those drivers who no longer hold a valid school bus endorsement on their license.

I did this for my sister Jack and Jill just this past weekend and all the proceeds were to go to them, we filled the car with gas which cost about $25.00 and I was ready to go we live in the country and cabs are very hard to come by out here. we were charging $15.00 as mostly everyone was going about a twenty minute drive away. well the long and the short of it is it didn't work so well unless maybe you had more then one car/van it total I took 2 car loads and one of them was my sister and brother in law to be so we didn't even make the gas money back we lost money on it

I love these ideas, making it really easy. We are doing a condom count (Works kind of like a jelly bean count a Jar full of condoms and people pay a dollar for a guess at the number in there and they win the jar if they are right. We got the condoms free so it's a cheap game and should make some cash.

well i have read something on here about cricket insurance, but the biggest hit of all in my family is the exact same idea, but wit lots o'fishies. gold fish insurance is th' best seller o' all. good luck swimmin' for fishies. at th' end o' th' night if someone hasn't bought gold fishies insurance th' they must eat the gold fishies live. only $3 per gold fishies insurance, buy at th' door. purchase 15 gold fishies and see how many people will buy the insurance. ahoy mate! good luck o' fishin.

I was wondering what kind of ticket packages people have or are going to sell at the door? We are not selling drink tickets as the hall we are renting is in charge of the bar.

Im having a benefit for my mother and sisters...The tickets, I made myself of word excel. Games...I am doing a toonie toss and possible nail and hammer...im also doing a silent auction type thing....andd im making it a potluck sooo im making and saving alot of money

I'm getting married in a year and I'm really excited about the Jack and Jill all of these games are so cool! I can't wait!

But

In a month my sisters and I are throwing my parents a 60th birthday party (they're both turning 60 around the same time) The party is in the day at a hall with no booze served, basically a pot luck lunch and cake but I thought a game or two would be fun and a great way to make some money to give to my parents for whatever they want for their birthday.

What if any of the games on this site would you recommend for an event like this?

good game to make good money. glue all the cards from a deck onto a board. its 5 bucks to play and the person gets 6 darts.. if he or she is able to hit all 4 aces with the 6 darts than he/she wins the prize(mickey,40,60,texas mickey). make sure its a far enough distance that you can make money.

Hey im looking for a good place to host a stag. If anyone has any suggestions it would be great!

Hey there... someone mentioned a loonie auction... does anyone know what that is? Please explain the game if you do! Thanks!

I used to be a wedding planner, so I've been part of referrals for stag and doe items and I've attended quite a few myself. My fiancee and I are having ours this May and we have a few ideas that are a twist on some things already mentioned and some that are not:

Condom Jar: How many cassanova's boast about their skills especially at a good alcoholic gathering? Well, we'll see how good they are at the game! Go to your local health unit and gather up FREE condoms, fill a pickle jar (no pun intended!) and stuff the jar with as many condoms as you can. $2 per guess or 3 for $5. Person closest to the amount wins the jar! Even better... People don't have to put their own name on the guess list! Have them pay money to sign up their friend to win! Imagine the "surprise" they will feel winning a jar of condoms in front of everyone they know when they didn't even sign up!

Depending on the time or year rent a popcorn machine, cotton floss machine and/or a snow kone machine and make them for people to buy to help make a profit too! (snow kones are great on a hot summer night or even any time of year to offer to have for people cool down after busting a move on the dance floor- the sugar keeping them hyper and awake can't hurt your profits either!)

Bring the bachelor party to the stag!! Have the groom cross dress with ladies clothes, lots of layers, and have the D.J. pump up the crowd for a grand entrance for an exotic dancer and have the groom dancing to a funny song (ex. "Catwalk"- the I'm too sexy for my shirt song, "Like a Virgin"-Madonna, "Baby got back"-Sir Mixalot) and have him "strip" (down to boxers) for your guests with them offering up their $$$ as if they were at a gentlemans club! Top your grooms look off with make-up to make the ambiance worthwhile!
*** You can even have people bet for the one and only lap dance to be performed by the exotic dancer- to be surprised when the groom enters, and have the groom do the same as above!

What better than to make a profit for something people will be doing anyways! Someone want a photo with the bride, groom or someone in the wedding party? 50 cents please! C'mon it's going to a good cause!

I just want to say that this site is AMAZING!!! Instead of surfing the net to find cheesy games this covered all my worries in half an hour. THANK YOU AND GREAT IDEA!!!

And Ronda, how did you become a wedding planner?? This may seem a bit random, but I've wanted to be one for so long, and I dont know where to start and I have not met ANYONE who has been in the business...any advice would be amazing!!!!

aries_with_attitude@hotmail.com is my email ... thank you!!!!

Thanks for all the great ideas. We are having a buck and doe in May and have been looking all over for more ideas other then the traditional 50-50 and crown and anchor. So it's been really helpful.
I have one of my own.... you take a meduim sized jug with a fairly small opening and drop a shot glass in and leave it sitting at the bar. People drop in loonies and try to get them in the shot glass. If they get it they get a free shot. If they miss you get a loonie. ( if you put it on the bar people will play while they are waiting for a drink or with the change they get back.)

I'm taking it upon myself to plan the stag and doe for my two best friends and these pages are awesome helpfull!!

I haven't read them all, so this may have already been said, but here's another idea:

Later in the night, when people are going to be drunk are drunk, make a long line of tables, pushing a few together, and people up facing each other on each side. These sides are now teams, try to have an equal number on each side. Each person on each team has a plastic cup full of booze, or pop if that's their thing.

When the game begins, the first person on each team must drink the cup dry and then turn the cup over on top of the tabel, so that the rim sticks over the edge a bit. Then they try to flip the cup over so that it lands the right-way-up. Only when they have succeeded can the next person must drink and flip. Each side keeps going like this, from person to person and whichever team reaches the end of their line first wins!

This game is lots of fun and the best part is the whole freakin' party can get involved if you have enough tables!

so for the teams how do you fidure out who wins??? like does the whole one side win? would you give them all a prize or would you just keep going and split them up until it gets down to two????

Hi there, someone referenced a lottery board and I would be interested in the details. Thanks to all who have contributed ideas.

I would like to know if it's unethical to sell tickets for a stag but mention on the ticket that there will be no party or dance, but everyone who purchases a ticket will be eligible to win a grand prize. It would sorta be like a raffle in lieu of the stag.

I myself often buy stag tickets to support the bride and groom but i have intention in attending. Is there a way of wording this without sounding like we only want their money.

please send comments and ideas to my e-mail juliefortin1@live.ca

thank you all
Julie

We do a lot of stag and does around here and the best money maker I ever see is the bride and groom sundae where they put on goggles and sit in a barbie pool. Then you auction off different things to pour on them. For ours I want it to be good like whipped cream, cherries, chocolate sauce, butterscotch and all that stuff. But most that I go to are nasty stuff like eggs get cracked on them, flour and feathers etc. People really go nuts bidding for the stuff and the highest bidder gets to do it. So if you lose you go on to the next item. I've paid $20 for a bottle of ketchup to put on them. You can imagine how it can add up like crazy.

The girls from work took a girl out for a bachlorette type of thing and we made her a t-shirt with Life Savers. We bought the life savers that were individually packaged and stapled them to a shirt we bought for $10max. On the front was written "My last night as a free woman" and on the back "$1 a suck". Quite entertaining, we went to the bar that night so the response was funny. The bride keep all the money and I don't think she paid for a drink herself all night.

do you make your wedding party pay for their stag and doe tickets?

Is asking guests to buy tickets to attend a J & J Shower tacky? Pay $20.00 each? Drinks will be free (only serving beer, wine, water and pop).

The Wedding Party usually contributes a lot to the stag and doe sometimes even paying for the hall.
If your wedding party is spending their money to help you provide music, food, drinks or prizes for your guests I would not charge them for admission.
However that being said if your wedding party is just there for support maybe charge them a discounted price?

No I am not as they are helping with it. either selling tickets, making food, or running the games. I personally think they should be free

Wow!! I have been looking for a few weeks now for ideas for our Stag and Doe coming this July and I can't believe my luck that I found this thread! Thanks everyone for the amazing ideas here... I have written a lot of stuff down to talk to my wedding party about for our big event!

Cheers!!

At the door when people first come in have a box that is used for individuals to enter their name in a draw. Charge $2.00 per entry, but specify that they must be present in order to claim their prize. At around 10:30 or 11:00 (when there are lots of people) draw 10 names from the box. Those 10 people then become the individuals participating in the musical chairs (have 10 chairs lined up in a row facing the crowd). As the person organizing the game have a box full of various itmes that you would think most people in the crowd would have on them ie. lip stick, a belt, a bra, a bun from the food table, a roll of toilet paper from the bathroom, a drivers lisence from someone born in 1979 ect. Once that item is pulled from the box the people playing the game have to race to find that item and return to a chair, the last person to make it back is odviously eliminated as the number of chairs decrases. We like to make the last couple of items ones that are a bit more difficult to find, a condom is always good and it makes the person giving it up a tad embarassed. It is a great way to get the entire crowd involved.

I was wondering some places to have the stag and doe?

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if they had to get insruance for their stag and doe and where they got it thanks!
