Stag And Doe Ideas

By smithdm3 - Posted on 15 January 2004

I get a lot of hits (found in my refer logs) for Stag and Doe type ideas. So I'll ask you people to help me out by providing ideas that you have, and then hopefully when people visit here they won't be so dissapointed. :)

Comment away!

Wow, after four years, this post just keeps on raking in traffic and comments. We're up to 153 individual comments. Now, some of them are questions, but really, it's pretty amazing how giving people have been. My friend Kev is trying to provide a similar service with master of ceremony (MC/emcee) speech ideas/jokes.

I'm having one in May. Here are some ideas I've picked up.

Get a couple of stumps of wood. A softer wood for the women and a harder one for the guys. Tap six inch spikes an inch into the top of the boy's stump and the girl's stump. Contestants pay $2.00 to whack the spike all the way into the stump. The event is not timed so they are counted by the amount of strikes it takes to sink it. The person that sinks the nail in the least amount of swings at the end of the night wins an allotted prize. Remember a miss counts as a swing and if the nail is bent the amount of taps to straighten it out also counts. This is a good game to play with a lot of ego's in the room. If there is a tie at the end of the night, you will have to have a whack off to determine the winner. This can be a timed event. Remember always provide safety glasses.

Place a shot glass in a fish tank. Fill the tank a third full with water, and if the guest can drop a Loonie into the shot glass, give them a ticket for a shot from the bar. Give it a try, it's harder than it looks!

Buy a bag of small balloons and fill them up with air. Tie a 4-foot length of ribbon to the balloon, and sell to the guests. When all the balloons are sold, get everyone to tie the loose end of the ribbon around an ankle, so that the balloon is loose behind them. Get everyone who has bought a balloon to get on the dance floor and have the DJ play some upbeat music. The goal of this game is to try to pop the other contestants’ balloon. Once the balloon is popped they move to the outside of the dance floor and continue to try to pop the balloons. The last guest with the balloon still inflated gets a prize!

He Shoots..He Scores! For the hockey crowd: Set up a goalie's net with targets. It's 2 shots for a toonie. 20-25 feet back. If you hit down one target you get a loonie. Two targets, 5 bucks. . If you know you have a bunch of sharp shooters keep moving back your shot line until it becomes more challenging.

Leah try resturants, sports teams breweries are not good we did good with radio stations and resturants sports teams some department store also car race track dirt raceing.

Just write a letter telling them about your self and your event and time it is being held and if they can donate it worked out for us.

That is one of the best ideas posted!! it is simple, and very cool!! Thanks kdoel for the tip!

I got business cards from staples, 250 for $7.97. and you use the webb site of the card company, to print the cards on your own computer. It cost nothing just the price of the cards.

For my daughter and fiancé I made t-shirts. She is a dancer and loves rhinestone so that what I used for her and for him we used a iron on that we got at the paper factory store. We made shirts for the bridesmaids and groomsmen as well. You can get shirts for cheap at Michael's and if do them in you stag-n-doe theme colours or wedding colours it makes it very easy to see them. Have fur.

Buy blank business cards from Staples and then it should tell you how to set your margins and you can print them at home...all you need to do is write the numbers on the tickets.I used them for my reply cards 71/2 years ago when i did my own invitations for my own wedding.

We ordered Stag and Doe tickets from Ticket Master. Turned out amazing and were delivered right to us in 4 business days!! 300 tickets for approx $40+tax.

I just order custom made tickets from ticket master, 600 for $59.99 plus shipping they had them to me in 3 days and I have had nothing but compliments on the tickets.(How they look)They resemble a concert ticket. They are very professional and cheap. Good Luck.

$2.00 entry, Pie Auction. To be thrown in Bride then Grooms face.
DJ announces start of the auction "who wants to buy this pie for $2.00, Mary, Mary has bought this pie, now who wants to buy from Mary?" After a couple more then raise the value to $3.00 then $5.00 and when bidding dies down DJ announces sold.

LOVE the idea of Ticketmaster!!! We might use it for our Pub Night Fundraiser!

This money-maker is actually the worst and most disgusting idea ever.

What is so wrong with throwing a good party, with cheap tickets at the door, cheap drinks, great food and good music to help raise funds for those of us who can't count on Mommy & Daddy to fork the bill for the wedding? I think it's a great excuse to have a good time, and your friends and family are more than happy to support the cause! Get a reality check is what I say, weddings aren't cheap!

Unfortunately some people just don't get it. My fiancés family has asked us not to invite any of their family as if they're embarassed by it. But we need some help paying for the wedding since Mommy & Daddy aren't. The one I went to was a good time and they raised around $5,000.

I would suggest selling the drinks for $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00. MOst people will fork out the $10 dollars and when you think about 26 ozs. in a bottle, well? YOu do the math.... makes lots of money to do it that way. Many people buy multiple rounds and also, there are usually many tickets never cashed in, but paid for. Good luck!

Ask bars for t-shirts or hats.they get them free antways.and any where you go tell them to give you a bussiness card and you will put it with the gift(free advertising for them)your best bet is go to the indepent stores where most of them will welcome free advertising.go to places like salons, nail salons, craft stores, pizza places, ect.dont forget to ask for their card if they are donating something.good luck

this is cruel and disgusting...whats a matter with people....pathetic

What is cruel and disgusting??? What is your problem?

if you don't like them, don't attend.

I totally agree!! What is soo disgusting about stag and does, and trying to raise $ to help pay for your wedding? we arnt all rich or have rich parents to pay for things! Buck and does are huge in the little town where I live, gives ppl something to do on the weekend also!! Great chance to get together and help ppl celebrate a new begining! I attend everyone I can, and I am far from being wealthy! You only spend what you can! i think that person is on the wrong site, period!

what is it u dont like the tickets, the pie game, the guy or girl ur
marrying ?????????

What is the difference of a business holding a funraiser and having a stag n doe. They are both raising moey for a good cause. For thoes people who don't like the idea stay home. Why go around spreading negativity? That is more cruel and disgusting than helping you have nothing better to do?

Go to
They make them look like concert or hockey game tickets and it's WAY cheaper than Staples. Very different and fun too!

Check out Ticket Master! They have some really cool options, where you can also rip off pieces that you could use to have them pay extra for a door prize perhaps?

Glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets Work GREAT !!!!!

If you go to Microsoft word and go on their templates you can find an admission or entry ticket template and just edit with your information.

Simple as that.. then Print.. Viola

We had known about a year ahead of time, and bought Easter Bunnie ears for each female in the wedding party, so they could be picked out in the crowd, to sell tickets etc. The bartenders and male participants wore bowler hats from Dollarstore (at Halloween). The bride had a different colored bunny ears and a veil and crown sewn to it. The Groom had a tophat (from New Years). So think all year round for deals and ideas.

Ticketmaster online is great for making tickets. Cheap too .. min 300 tickets for 30 bucks. You just submit the picture and fill in the details and they will email you a proof before doing it. We got our tickets and they look fantastic!

I personally have had no luck getting donations from any body and I have called lots to only be told "THEY DON'T DONATE TO SMALL CHARITIES" so good luck with your quest

You should not ask businesses for donations for a buck n doe, it's tacky. Fundraisers is a whole other story.
