Another 50 Places

I found another list of 50 Places (after seeing a search in my refer log), this time from National Geographic's Travel Magazine. They are listed below in the details, along with my progress... :)

I'm not as big of a fan of this list as the BBC one . I'm not a big fan of the fact that they've included things like cyberspace and space... but the rest is decent.

Long Weekend on the Restigouche

Ahh... carelessly floating down a river on a long weekend while
drinking a beer and toasting a friend who is about to head to the land
of the wed. That's coming up this weekend, and I can't wait.

Last year a few of us (Rob, Anna, Mark, Boris and Troy) travelled from Ottawa to Northern New Brunswick to take a trip down the Restigouche River with a bunch of Troy's friends from New Brunswick.

Sonia Climbs Mt. Kilimanjaro

My friend Sonia Bardy just sent me an email, she has returned from her attempt to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro. I'm proud of her for having gone, she made it a little less than a kilometre from the top, but had to turn back four hours from the peak
due to fatigue and nausea. Quite an experience I would imagine, I hope
to hear more over a beer or two in the next few months.

50 Years...

... is definitely a long time.

Well, for the second summer in the last three, I helped celebrate a
50th wedding anniversary. This past Saturday my grandparents (on my
mother's side) had the opportunity to celebrate their 50th with friends
and family. It was a wonderful event hosted in my parents backyard, by
all of the King children. It was great to see all of my family (with a
few exceptions - I missed you Andreas and Laura) in one place again,
two years many had come to celebrate my Great Grandmother's 90th
birthday party in the same locale. I wish I hadn't forgotten my camera,
it was a beautiful day and only photos or video would have come close
to doing it justice.

Power Outages

Wow... You know, I'm quite impressed with the way this power outage
has been handled. While it took longer to get out of the parking lot at
work yesterday (I decided to go for a walk while the lot emptied) then
it did to get home. I was fairly impressed with the way people handled
things. I was told not to go into work (actually I assumed that I
shouldn't - turns out work was closed...) today but am still playing
ultimate tonight.

As I mentioned before, I went to the zoo a few weekends back now with my friend Jen. I've finally posted the pictures. The Toronto Metro Zoo is pretty neat, I can only imagine how fun it would be to visit the San Diego Zoo.

Funny Searches

I am finding it interesting to look at my refer log and figure out
what some of the searches are... there are some interesting ones. The
top one remains the article about George Bush's plan to ensure that
same-sex couples cannot marry. updates...

So I've done a few things around here.. nothing big... just messing around.
