Going to the Big Apple, While my Small Apple Arrives
Well, I'm off to New York City this weekend (leaving ungodly early Friday morning) and if things go correctly, while I'm enjoying my first day there my Mac Mini should arrive. Hehe, Big Apple, Small Apple... who would have thunk it... :D
Should be another enjoyable weekend... and what do I have on tap to top it? Well, a weekend of golfing and poker with the boys next week in Courtice at my friend Bill's place. Summer is on it's way for sure!

It Ships!
Hmmmm.... it shipped today. My Mac Mini is now on it's way. In less than a weeks time (likely) I'll be a 'switcher'. I won't likely get the machine into my grubby little hands until Monday as I'll be away for the weekend (including Friday). So while it might make it to my office (that's where I have stuff shipped typically so I'm actually available to receive it) on Friday, I won't get it til Monday.
I'm happy that it shipped today, but now I'm curious as to whether either a.) my email/complaint to Apple did something to speed up the process or b.) they simply have zero ideas about inventory/backlog and so when they said the estimated time was midway through May they simply put a big time up to play it safe. Hmmm... anyway, I'm a little less dissapointed with Apple now as they only shipped it two days late. I'm sure the 'user experience' will make up for it :D

Bah! It still hasn't shipped!!!
It was supposed to ship by today (well, at least by the "Estimated Ship Date"). GGrrrr! My Mac Mini is still sitting somewhere in some offshore manufacturing plant it would seem. Who knows, still might be in pieces. At this rate it feels like it will never get here :(
I must say, this has tarnished my opinion about Apple. I kind of figured they'd deliver on their "estimated" time. I'm a bit disappointed and I hope that when the machine finally gets here I won't be even more so.
An Amazing Weekend
Wow... what a weekend. I mean, it was only two days and a friday evening, but really, it felt like a great vacation.

the Ted
So I was lucky enough to get to the Jays home opener on friday which allowed me one of the first looks at the new Ted (the Rogers Centre - still think it would have been better as Rogers Field, but whatever).

They Won't Topple Them Yet
I don't think the Conservatives will topple the Liberal minority government quite yet. Why? Neither party can afford it. With both having had recent leadership races and then a hard fought election last year, they are just broke.
The Conservatives will likely wait until next year (next budget), or later in the fall to break the government, that is assuming that Martin doesn't do so first. The strength of the publication ban on some of the Gomery Inquiry testimony is being tested by the web, so whether Martin can even afford to do so is questionable.
Interesting times in Canadian politics...
