Dave in the Mountains - Flickr Test

.flickr-photo { border: solid 1px #000000; }

Dave in the Mountains, originally uploaded by smithdm3.

I'm just testing the capability of blogging a photo from Flickr. While Boris introducded me to Flickr in the early part of this year, I use Gallery and so didn't really end up playing around much.

Seriously Going to Consider a Mac

Have you seen this thing???

It's absolutely design perfection. I could shrink my desk down a tonne and use the one Jen left with me when she moved away from Ottawa. Hmmm... I can steal $2000 from my downpayment fund, can't I?

Mac Boy To Carry Flag

Well, well, well... A Mac student, Adam Van Koeverden, will carry the Canadian flag into the closing ceremonies of the 2004 Athens games. While it's been a somewhat disappointing Olympics for Canada, Van Koeverden was spectacular in medaling in both of his events, the K1 500m and K1 1000m. Congratulations to all our athletes, especially Van Koeverden of Oakville and Brian Price of Belleville. Our team was young, and will no doubt have more success in Beijing in 4 years.

China Poised to Overtake US in 2008 Games?

You know, it looks like it to me. Every host country gears up to win medals in their home Olympics; Australia did it for Sydney, Greece for Athens and no doubt China will for Beijing. Though China won't be doing it just because they are hosting the games, China does it to prove that they are becoming more advanced, that they are as good as the developed nations.
China has the second highest number of gold medals thus far (with two days to go) at the Olympics, and is only 8 medals behind second place Russia.
G S B Total
1 United States 28 33 26 87
2 Russia 16 21 27 64
3 China 26 17 13 56
I don't doubt that they'll pass Russia in the next games, and possibly even the U.S., but I guess we can hold our heads high and say that we still have better human rights records... :)

Gmail - Thanks Kevin!

Wow, Haggerty came through in the clutch today! (No surprise really...) He forwarded me his first Gmail Invite, so now I've got another account. I'll let you guess what the email address might be....

Funniest thing about it all... the Invite that Kevin sent went into the bulk mail folder in my Yahoo! account. :)

BC Trip - Bowen Island & the Wedding

Okay, So I'll begin the journal of my BC odyssey with this first installment about my trip from Ottawa to Bowen, and the fun times had on Bowen. To start off, I'd like to thank all my friends who I stayed, travelled and had a fun time with on my vacation, I'll mention many in my writings, but if I miss anyone I want them to know it's not because I didn't appreciate their help or company but rather because I have a poor memory. ;)

BC Trip - Pictures

While I've got a tonne to say about my BC Trip, I've essentially slacked off the last three evenings and so all I've got to show thus far is some uploaded pictures. More details on my awesome excursion out west will come soon!
